Ovation of the Seas is the third addition to Royal Caribbean’s new Quantum class family of ships, joining the fleet in 2016. The ship has a capacity of 4,180 passengers and shares the same amazing at-sea firsts of the cruise line’s other Quantum class vessels such as the skydiving simulator, RipCord by iFly, and the glass viewing capsule, North Star. Guests can expect to enjoy flexible dining options onboard Ovation of the Seas with 18 venues to choose from each day, as well a variety of exciting entertainment and recreation options from the transformative Two70° space to the Seaplex with roller skating, bumper cars, and more!
Ovation of the Seas receives mixed reviews, with many guests praising the ship's amenities, staff, food, and entertainment, while others report significant issues with organization, staffing, embarkation, and crowd management. Families and multi-generational groups generally found the experience enjoyable, but several guests noted problems with long wait times, under-staffing, and some disappointing aspects of the dining and entertainment. Excursions and ports are often highlighted as a positive, but logistical issues and inconsistent service detract from the overall experience for some travelers.
Service is frequently described as friendly, attentive, and professional, with many guests highlighting exceptional crew members. However, some reviews mention understaffing and overwhelmed staff, leading to delays and inconsistent service.
