A Ship Designed for Big Adventures and Boutique Moments

From the moment our team boarded MSC World America, it was clear this ship was built for wow-factor. With a sleek design, open-air promenades, and a layout that balances intimacy with scale, it felt more like a modern city at sea than a traditional cruise ship.

At over 1,000 feet in length and rising nearly 22 decks high, it makes a strong first statement with bold architecture and contemporary European styling. From polished finishes and open atriums, to vibrant lighting and modern décor, the ship feels both energetic and elegant.

Our team immediately noticed the scale of the ship. Jack (Digital Media Manager), Kyndal (Marketing Manager), and Andy (Vice President of Marketing) brought their expertise and curiosity onboard with them, ready to explore every corner of MSC World America. "It’s a big ship," Jack said simply. Kyndal shared, "I was a little overwhelmed at first, but I quickly felt it was easy to get my bearings." That intuitive layout is part of what makes this vessel so inviting. Public spaces are well distributed, so even with thousands of guests onboard, it never felt crowded.

The Deck 8 World Promenade quickly became a favorite. With open-air seating, shops, restaurants, and ocean views in every direction, it felt more like a lively European plaza than a cruise ship corridor. "It felt like its own city," Kyndal said. Andy called the ship "modern, open, and awesome," and highlighted how this outdoor space added to the ship’s relaxed social atmosphere.

Cabins: Comfort, Function, and Ocean Views

With more than 2,600 cabins onboard, MSC World America offers a variety of options to suit different travel styles. From interior cabins with smart layouts to the exclusive MSC Yacht Club suites with private amenities and concierge service, guests can choose a space that fits both their budget and preferences.

Our team experienced both Oceanview cabins and the innovative Infinite Oceanview Balcony cabin. Kyndal described her cabin as simple and functional, with everything she needed. "It was a nice standard room. Nothing spectacular, but it had all the essentials and was comfortable." She also noted the plush bedding as a highlight after full days exploring the ship and ports.

Andy stayed in an Infinite Balcony cabin, which features a floor-to-ceiling window that converts into a semi-open balcony at the touch of a button. "I really liked the flexibility," he said. "You get fresh air and more room to spread out without sacrificing comfort."

All cabins include flat-screen TVs, USB charging stations, modern bathrooms, and a clean, minimalist aesthetic. Whether you're sailing solo, with a partner, or as a family, MSC World America’s cabins are designed to be a welcoming place to relax and recharge.

Dining: Global Flavors and Standout Experiences

MSC World America offers an impressive variety of dining options, with more than 30 venues that range from casual bites to upscale specialty restaurants. Whether you are craving fresh sushi, Mediterranean flavors, or a perfectly grilled burger, the ship’s culinary scene delivers both variety and quality.

One restaurant that truly stood out to our team was Paxos, MSC’s Greek-inspired specialty venue. “The octopus was really good. I had it multiple times,” Andy said. Jack also named it as his top dining pick, while Kyndal praised the lamb gyros for their bold flavor and presentation.

Eataly brought an elevated Italian experience to sea, complete with house-grown herbs and a modern setting. Kyndal appreciated the balance of authenticity and creativity in the dishes. “All of the restaurants had their own vibe. There was so much variety, you could always find something new to try.”

The sushi bar also received high praise for its fresh ingredients and clean flavors. Kyndal called the rainbow roll a favorite, while others mentioned the attention to detail in preparation.

For something more casual, the All-Star Sports Bar served up comfort food favorites like wings and burgers. “Surprisingly good,” noted Kyndal, who enjoyed it as a laid-back option after a full day of activities.

With options spread across multiple decks and themes that span the globe, dining aboard MSC World America offers something for every kind of traveler. Whether you are sitting down for a multi-course meal or grabbing a quick snack, each venue is designed to make dining feel like part of the adventure.

Activities and Entertainment

MSC World America is built to keep guests entertained from morning to night. With a variety of attractions, high-energy spaces, and hidden gems, there is always something new to discover onboard.

Some of the most unique experiences begin at the top of the ship. Kyndal and Andy both took on the Cliffhanger ropes course, a high-altitude adventure suspended over the ship’s edge. “It’s something you just don’t find on other ships,” Kyndal said. Andy also tried the swing that goes out over the ocean, describing it as a one-of-a-kind thrill. “You feel like you're flying,” he said.

For a more laid-back vibe with a twist, the Speakeasy quickly became a favorite. Tucked away from the main venues, this hidden lounge offers live music, specialty cocktails, and an atmosphere that feels completely different from the rest of the ship. “The Speakeasy was the best part of the ship,” Jack shared. “It felt exclusive and the entertainment was excellent.”

Even without attending the larger theater shows, the team found the entertainment options to be impressive and unexpected. Smaller venues featured live singers and bands, particularly in the Speakeasy and bars along the World Promenade, creating a vibrant nightlife scene with plenty of variety.

Whether you’re chasing adrenaline, enjoying music with a handcrafted cocktail, or trying something new, MSC World America creates opportunities to explore beyond the traditional cruise experience.

Relaxation and Port Adventures

While MSC World America brings the energy with its onboard thrills, it also offers plenty of ways to slow down and unwind. The ship’s design includes several distinct spaces for relaxation, each with its own mood and atmosphere.

Kyndal’s favorite spot to relax was the Zen Pool, an adults-only area that offers panoramic ocean views, plush loungers, and a quiet escape from the busier decks. “It was the perfect place to unwind,” she said. The Botanical Pool, with its glass dome ceiling and greenery, stood out for its calming design. “It was so aesthetically pleasing,” Kyndal added.

The fitness center also impressed with its size and location. Overlooking the main pool, it was fully equipped with everything from cardio machines to free weights. “It felt like a gym you’d find on land, just with better views,” Kyndal noted.

Outside of the ship, MSC World America’s Caribbean itinerary brought even more moments to remember. Our sailing included stops in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, and Ocean Cay Marine Reserve, MSC’s private island in the Bahamas.

In Puerto Plata, the team joined a catamaran excursion complete with snorkeling, swimming, and drinks. “The food was actually brought from the ship and it was really good,” Kyndal shared. The group also spent time browsing shops and relaxing near the port. Jack mentioned the lazy river near the terminal, which added a fun and unexpected local touch.

San Juan offered a more casual day of exploring. Jack spent the afternoon wandering the colorful streets of Old San Juan, soaking in the historic charm and relaxed pace.

The highlight for many, however, was Ocean Cay. This private island is exclusive to MSC guests and offers wide, open beaches with soft sand and shallow, swimmable waters. “I absolutely loved their private island and want to go back,” Andy said. “It was spacious, peaceful, and perfect for families.”

From quiet mornings on deck to carefree afternoons on island time, MSC World America creates space for every type of relaxation.

Who MSC World America Is Perfect For

MSC World America is designed to offer something for nearly every kind of traveler. With its combination of modern design, international influences, and diverse activities, this ship is a strong option for both seasoned cruisers and those setting sail for the first time.

Families will appreciate the ship’s spacious cabins, dedicated kids’ areas, splash zones, and relaxed island stops. Ocean Cay in particular is ideal for children, with safe beaches and plenty of room to play.

Couples looking for a balance of romance and fun will enjoy the specialty dining, oceanfront bars, and adults-only pools. Evening experiences like the Speakeasy offer a more intimate and upscale atmosphere perfect for date nights.

Friends and multigenerational groups will find a mix of shared activities and private spaces. With more than 30 dining and drinking venues, plus everything from zip lines to rooftop bars, there is always something to explore together.
